Event Overview
Come together to assemble hygiene kits and flood buckets — simple acts, big impact.
This event offers several opportunities to get involved. Participants can volunteer, donate, contribute items from the collection list, assemble kits for local organizations, deliver completed kits to designated PSEC drop-off locations, or support a project through a Thrivent Action Grant. Whether you're participating as an individual, family, congregation, or community group, there are many meaningful ways to make a difference.

Is the project open to others outside your congregation? Yes
Do I have to collect supplies in order to volunteer on God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday?
Nope! You are more than welcome to come volunteer as an individual, congregation, or small group without collecting donations. Many hands make light work and the more people we have, the better.
How do I know what to collect?
You can use our Sign Up Genius links to find lists of items needed for Hygiene Kits and Flood Clean Up buckets. Let us know which items and how many you think you group can collect for God’s Work, Our Hands on September 13!
Can our congregation make full kits and bring them to the event?
Absolutely! You can make as many kits as your congregation is able and we will store them at our storage location until they are ready to be distributed to survivors. You can make Hygiene Kits or flood buckets and see the Sign Up Genius links for what items are needed in each kit.
Are there other ways I can donate to God’s Work, Our Hands?
Thrivent Action Grants can be used to support our Flood Bucket and Hygiene kit collections. Talk to your congregation’s Thrivent liaison or email Heidi for more information about how to get a grant.
