Event Overview
In the morning from 9:15-10:15 am at Nativity, we will:
- Prepare personal care kits for Hays Elementary School
- Prepare Thanksgiving Meal kits for kinship care families at Diakon Social Services and for families served by our Roosevelt Meal Kit Ministry
- Fill backpacks with school supplies for children at Sheridan Elementary School
- Prepare and deliver lunches for local First Responders: Allentown Fire Department and Cetronia Fire Department
After sharing a lunch provided by our Fellowship Committee, in the afternoon from 1-4 pm we will move to the following locations and:
- Play bingo with Above and Beyond residents
- Transport residents and lead worship at Cedarbrook
- Painting and Garden maintenance at Catasauqua Middle School
- I Harvest: Pick potatoes and deliver to Parkland Cares food pantry
- Serve lunch at the Allentown Rescue Mission. ( at 11 am and noon)

Registration Required? Yes
Registration is required for the afternoon options. Follow the GWOH registration link on our website: www.nativityallentown.org.
Registration is not required for our morning options. (9:15-10:15 am).
Is the project open to others outside your congregation? Yes
Are there age restrictions or family-friendly considerations?
The following projects are family friendly:
- All activities during the morning service hour (9:15-10:15 am)
- In the afternoon, I-Harvest potato picking and playing bingo with the residents at Above and Beyond are great options for families.
What should participants bring? Water bottle.
What will be provided by the congregation or host site? All project materials will be provided by Nativity. Nativity is grateful to Thrivent for supporting our GWOH projects through Action Team Requests and to Weis Kutztown for their donation of bags and a gift card to help cover costs for our Thanksgiving Meal Kits.
Additional Information
Will there be a worship component tied to this day? Yes. Worship at 8:00 and 10:30 am will include GWOH liturgy, hymn and the commissioning of volunteers.
