The Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod is made up of nine geographical areas called Mission Districts. Each mission district has a dean who is elected from among the clergy of the Mission District. The Dean serves as an advisor to the Bishop and assists in representing the Synod and Mission District at important events in congregations and communities. Each Mission District also has a Synod Staff Liaison appointed by the Bishop.
