Organist/Choir Director (4/8) - Our progressive, historical church is looking for a part-time Organist/Choir Director for our mid-sized congregation in the Allentown area. This position includes provision of music for one weekly Sunday worship, and funerals and weddings as well. Expertise with organ and piano performance is required. The applicant would be responsible for directing the vocal music ministry, including rehearsals and provision of an anthem on Sundays. The Organist/Choir Director would work in conjunction with a Wind Ensemble and Bell Choir, both of which are directed by others, as well as our Worship and Music Committee. An understanding of Christian liturgical music is needed, with the ability to incorporate both traditional and contemporary music styles. Leadership skills to grow and sustain a thriving music ministry, and the ability to work with staff and volunteers are a plus.
