Starting in Advent, the Faith Formation Resource Ministry Team will be collecting stories of Lutherans around the synod. Through stories each month we will explore a different “Lutheran basic”such as our understandings of grace, the Word, God as Creator, God as Savior, God as Holy Spirit, worship, the sacraments, vocation, mission, law and gospel, saints and sinners, and two kingdoms.
Lutheran Basics is an excellent resource which can be purchased through Augsburg Fortress. As you explore the Lutheran stories of people in our synod, this little booklet may be a helpful resource. It will provide a Lutheran lens through which to see your faith.
DECEMBER 2015 – GRACE
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God – not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Definition – Grace is God’s gift of love and forgiveness freely given to undeserving sinners.
What does grace mean to you? Where have you experienced or witnessed God’s grace?
