Bike for World Hunger will be held at Bob Rodale Fitness and Cycling Park
Bike for World Hunger
Registration begins at 8:30 am, at the Picnic Pavilion. Parking is provided on site. The event begins at 9:00 am.
Monies collected will also benefit our synod’s $15,000 World Hunger challenge! Note: Groups may want to design their own t-shirts to wear this year (e.g., tie-dye, neon color) to identify participants and their congregations. Come, join the fun!
Every participant MUST have an individual registration and signed release to participate. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature.
The Bob Rodale Fitness and Cycling Park, on a 71-acre tract west of Mosser Road, has a 1.3-mile long, 24-foot wide asphalt track with a 0.6-mile inner flat loop and a .75-mile inner hill loop for bicycling, rollerblading and jogging. Other features include an exterior walking course, picnic pavilion (seats 48 people), AND TOT TRACK WITH SANDBOX. A wooded nature trail features a boardwalk through the wetlands with opportunities for nature observation. The track area is surrounded by grassy fields, with enough room to toss a football or play catch if you want to take a break. You may bring grills, tents and canopies. The tot track is a wonderful spot for young children or for older folks who want to walk at a slower pace. Water will be available to fill your bottles, but you are encouraged to bring a full water bottle with you. Bike for World Hunger bottles will also be available, and they are yours to keep! We’ll finish at 1:00 pm, but the park remains open to the public, so you can stay longer of you wish!
